(but I can tone them down if they're way overboard)Ħ800k (6850k or fast Xeon is ok too if it works), or 6700k/7700kĪsrock X99 Taichi ATX or MSI Z270i Gaming Pro Carbon AC mini-ITX The 7800X I'm still mulling over but I'm likely staying X99 or Z270. For a few seconds I toyed with the idea of using an X299 with a 7900X or 7920X but $1K-$1.2K seems frivolous. I think they made a mistake when they dropped the 6850k's big brother, the 7820x down to 28 PCI lanes. I might buy a second 6850k if X299 causes Intel to drop the price $100+, but I doubt it. If not, I'll drop the GTX 1080 Ti hybrid I'm going to buy into this machine instead of swapping it out with the 1080 FTW hybrid in my X99 6850k rig. It will have an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid, I'm guessing it should be goid enough. Nothing against AMD, it's just a personal preference. I'm in the Intel/Nvidia camp, not really interested in AMD/Radeon. The trouble I'm having is trying to figure out what rig to build that will run all the racing games, including OcRift, without making my system too powerful and expensive. Don't suggest the G29, it looks great, I just can't bring myself to spend $1k on a steering wheel set alone. I'm welcoming suggestions on these parts, especially if you know of a sit down stand without the center post thats around $400 w/seat. Planning on using a GT Omega stand (maybe one of the sit down ones insted but I don't like how the bar is centered on the ones I've seen), Logitech G920, and a 1080p 120Hz.
